These sugars contain more nutrients and antioxidants than refined sugars, and they also have a lower glycaemic index, meaning they won’t cause a spike in blood sugar levels. Another option is to use artificial sweeteners, such as stevia or Splenda. These sweeteners are calorie-free and won’t cause a blood sugar spike, but they may not provide the same level of sweetness as sugar. Finally, you could also try using fruit to sweeten foods and drinks. Fruit contains natural sugars that can add sweetness without the need for added sugars. Whichever option you choose, make sure to use it in moderation to avoid potential health risks.

It is important for your health to reduce the number of refined sugars that are being consumed in your diet. Be sure to check ingredient lists of the food you buy, and make continued and healthy changes to the way you sweeten your food.
